Received a call from Pararajasingam Sujeepan (from Sakthy TV) on Jan 22nd where he told me about how he met this person named Lakshmanan Thangarasa, who had lost both of his legs & some of his fingers due to the war in Sri Lanka. The thing that inspired me was the fact that Lakshman despite of his inability to walk has been using a tricycle to go fishing to support his wife (who had lost fingers) and his 4 daughters. However, the income wasn’t enough to feed the family and was requesting help to Sujeepan. I immediately told Sujeepan that we will finance a project of Lakshman’s choice to get him a fixed monthly income. Told my project coordinator Vaanan Kokilan to immediately visit the family and get things moving. As it is, I am trying to raise funds for the heart surgeries and am short of funds for a few surgeries. However, I couldn’t resist assisting Lakshman as he truly has suffered 9 years since the end of the war ended in 2009. How can it be fair to watch him suffer longer?? Sent the funds immediately to build a Poultry Cage. Within hours, got a call from Harry Pathmarajah who wanted to help the same person. Harry has donated to my heart surgery project only recently. Despite he sent me etransfers to cover this project cost as well. This is why I keep doing what I am doing……There are so many good hearted people out there to support good causes. Thanks Harry!! Total amount sent $802 (Rs 100,000).
Note: There are others who have helped the same person with Cattle, Washroom facilities, etc. Thanks to all those good souls!! Lakshman is well settled now. Thanks to Sakthy TV & Sujeepan for bringing this story out to the public!! There is a valuable lesson to be learned from this man Lakhsman.

யுத்தத்தில் இரு கால்களையும் சில கை விரல்களையும் இழந்த லக்ஷ்மன் தங்கராசா தனது மனைவி மற்றும் நான்கு பெண் பிள்ளைகளையும் காப்பாற்றப்படும் பாட்டை பற்றி எடுத்து கூறினார். இவரின் துணைவியாரும் சில விரல்களை இழந்துள்ளார்.
இவர் நாள்தோறும் முச்சக்கர வண்டியில் பயணித்து மீன் பிடித்து குடும்பத்தை காப்பாற்றும் முயற்சி என்னை மட்டுமல்லாமல் பலரை வியக்கவும் நெகுழவும் வைத்தது. இவருக்கு வாழ்வாதார உதவியாக இவர் விருப்பப்பட்ட கோழி கூட்டினை அமைப்பதற்கு பணம் அனுப்பிய இரு மணித்துளிகளில் நண்பர் Harry Pathmarajahஎன்னை தொடர்பு கொண்டு தானும் இதற்க்கு உதுவு புரிய விரும்புவதாக கூறி எ்னக்கு பணத்தினை அனுப்பி வைத்தார். இம்மாதிரி நல்லுள்ளங்களால் தான் நானும் எனது பணியினை செய்யக்கூடியதாக உள்ளது. லக்ஷ்மன் பட்ட துயரினை உலகிற்கு வெளி கொணர்ந்த சுஜீபன் அவர்களுக்கும், சக்தி டிவி நிர்வாகத்திற்கும் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள். கோழி கூட்டினை அமைப்பதற்கு ரூபாய் ஒரு லட்சம் அனுப்பி அது கட்டியும் முடிந்துள்ளது இவருக்கு வேறு பல நல்லுள்ளங்களும் உதவிகளை வழங்கி உள்ளார்கள்.
நான் அடிக்கடி கூறுவது “தமிழர்களுக்கு உதவி புரியும் உள்ளம் எப்போதும் அதிகம். அது முற்றிலும் உண்மை” !!
“வாழ்க்கை வாழ்வதற்கே” என்பதற்கு உதாரணமாக வாழும் இவர் ஒரு சாதனையாளர்!! உடல் உறுப்புகள் எல்லாம் இருந்தும் மனதில் ஊனத்தோடு வாழும் மனிதர்களுக்கு இவர் வாழ்வு ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டு!!! உங்களுக்கு உதவியதால் பெருமை கொள்கின்றோம்!! இவர் பட்ட துன்பங்கள் போதும்! இவரை இவ்வளவு காலம் தவிக்கவிட்டதை நினைத்து தமிழ் சமூகமாகிய நாம் வெட்கப்பவேண்டும். இன்னும் இலை மறை காயாக எத்தனையோ
