A request for financial assistance came from an ex-cadre Miss Yasochjiny Sabaratnam (Killinochchi), whose right leg has been amputated due to the shelling by the Sri Lankan army back in 2009. She has been struggling to support herself & her mother all along and finally found a job that pays Rs 12,000 (Sri Lankan Currency) per month. However, she has been spending Rs 6500 per month in commuting expenses alone as she has to hire an Auto (three wheeler) for transport since there is no bus service to that area from her residence. At times, she has to wait till midnight to come home, depending on the availability of the ride. Though she has lost her leg, she hasn’t lost her confidence to be part of the working force. Hence, I approached Arulraj Thambiraja who met me at the birthday celebration of Mrs. Annamma last month where he had assured me to help and sponsor one such livelihood assistance. Here we go, Miss Yasochjiny Sabaratnam was delivered a new 2 wheeler which will help her commute to work. Thanks Arul for your kindness and donation of Rs 140,000 ($1100 Canadian). One more person lifted up.

ஐந்து வருடங்கள் போராளியாக இருந்து, 2009 கடைசி யுத்தத்தில் ஒரு காலினை தொடைக்கு கீழ் இழந்த யசோஜினியிடமிருந்து எங்களுக்கு ஒரு வேண்டுகோள் வந்திருந்தது. அதாவது உழைத்து வாழ வேண்டும் என்ற கொள்கையுடன் இருக்கும் தனக்கு மாத வருமானம் ரூபாய் 12,000, ஆனால் வேலைக்கு போய் வரும் போக்குவரத்து செலவோ ரூபாய் 6000 இக்கு மேல். தனக்கு ஒரு வாகன வசதி ஏற்படுத்தி தர முடியுமா என்று கேட்டிருந்தார். சென்ற மாதம் நான் திருமதி கனகம்மா அவர்களின் பிறந்த நாளிற்கு சென்றிருந்த வேளை அங்கு என்னை சந்தித்த தமிழ் உணர்வாளர் அருள் தம்பிராஜா (AGP Mart) என்னிடம், போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு அல்லலுறும் ஒரு குடும்பத்திற்கு தான் உதவ விரும்புவதாகவும், தனக்கு சரியான ஒரு பயனாளியை தெரிவு செய்து தரும்படியும் கேட்டிருந்தார். கிளிநொச்சியில் இருக்கும் எனது நிவாரண அமைப்பின் செயற்பாட்டாளர் வாணன் ஊடாக உடனடியாக அருள் அவர்களின் நன்கொடையில் ரூபாய் 140,000 செலவில் புதிய உந்துருளி வாங்கி யசோஜினிக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டும் விட்டது. நன்றிகள் அருள்!!! தனது காலினை இழந்தும், உழைத்து சாதிக்க வேண்டும் என்று துடிக்கும் சகோதரி யசோஜினிக்கு வாழ்த்துக்கள்!!
